Electrostatica. Sergei Filatov. In Search of a Floating Point
A multi-channel soundscape is created in real time on the basis of the performer's field recordings and studio material. A characteristic feature of this project is the process of recording sound with the use of ambient surround technology.
Omniauris is an auteur project of media artist Sergei Filatov, originally created in 2014. The name is derived from two Latin roots: "omnidirectionality" and "ears." At the core is the idea of developing acoustic awareness, with a concentration on real-time soundscapes. The inspiring moment for the project was the observation of the natural environment: each individual sound harmoniously intertwines into a common sound canvas, creating a unique, ever-changing picture.
The project participates in exhibition programs and contemporary art festivals at Russian and international venues: the Prepared Wednesdays festival (Moscow), Ars Electronica 2015 (Linz, Austria), the St. Petersburg Museum of Sound, the New Stage of the Alexandrinsky Theater (St. Petersburg), the Electromuseum (Moscow) and others.
