Alexey Sioumak

Composer

Alexey Sioumak graduated from the Moscow Conservatory (class of Professor Alexander Tchaikovsky). He was a participant in the Young Composers Meeting (Apeldoorn, Netherlands) and at the International Ensemble Modern Academy (Germany). He is a laureate of the P. Jurgenson Young Composers Competition (2003, 2005) and Pythian Games (2006).

Alexey Sioumak’s works have been performed at the leading contemporary music festivals in Russia, the U.K., Germany, the Netherlands and Poland by the State Academic Symphony Orchestra of Russia, the Moscow Contemporary Music Ensemble, the New Music Studio, eNsemble, Ensemble Modern (Germany), the Schoenberg Ensemble (Netherlands), De ereprijs (Netherlands). In Moscow Kirill Serebrennikov staged his opera The Station, the scenic oratory Requiem, as well as The Demon and Kizhe.

He is a member of the Structural Resistance (StRes) and Sound Plasticity composer groups. He is a lecturer at the Moscow Conservatory.
