Yury Duvanov

Honored Artist of Russia

Yury Duvanov graduated from Mikhail Tsaryov's class at the Schepkin Institue in 1974, after which he joined the company of the Stanislavsky Drama Theatre. During his tenure there he has played Jim (The Rainmaker, directed by Leonid Varpakhovsky), Korolkov (Four Interrogations, directed by Alexander Tovstonogov), and other roles. As a free lance artist, he has performed in productions at the Theatre of the Moon, the Modern Opera Theatre.

Duvanov made his film debut in 1975 playing Klimchuk in the war tale The Long Versts of War. He performed in numerous films through the 1970s and 1980s. Among his most famous were the melodrama Sunday Papa (directed by Naum Birman, and the drama Who the Singing Canary Visited (directed by Vadim Zobin). In recent years he began appearing in film after a long break.
